Hello All. I couldn't find my camera this week and the one on my phone isn't great. That said, here is what we did last week in no particular order.

S is for Spy. Each child was recruited to be a spy and given their spy glasses. Then I told them that 19 letter S's had escaped and were hiding around the house. The kids then pretended to be spies and had to find the S's.
After they thought they had them all we would count them and see how many were left and they would look again. The kids liked it and we counted a bunch, but I'll admit that we couldn't find the last 2 S's. That bothered the kids a little, but it was funny on Thursday when Henry finally found one of them.
For Math we talked about small and tall. We made tall snakes and small snakes and talked about which one was which.
This was the favorite activity on Tuesday. We played a game with skittles, where each kid had to put 19 skittles on their game board, one on each number. Then I pulled a number from my bag. The kids had to identify what the number was and then find it on their board where they could eat the skittle. The kids did great with this activity and I was really impressed with how they could recognize their numbers.

I Spy. I had a paper full of things that began with the letter S. We played a game where I spied things and gave clues until they guessed what it was from our S words.
Since it was Groundhog day we talked a lot about shadow. Here we discussed how a shadow does everything you do. They stood looking at their shadow and made their shadow do things. Her Isabella is making her shadow twirl.
We made Slime for science. Each kid took a turn adding an ingredient. Then we waited for it to set. Finally it was time to play with our slime. When you first get the slime it is really wet and dries as you play with it. The kids didn't love it when it was wet. A few didn't want to touch it until I 'dried' it a little. They had a lot of fun with it though.
For Groundhogs Day we talked about how the Groundhogs normally sleep during the winter, but on Groundhogs day they 'pop' out of their hole to see if spring is coming. They made groundhogs popping out of the ground for this activity. After we finished this activity the kids loved using their groundhogs to talk to each other like puppets.
S is for stretching.
For S/Rectangle/People in my Neighborhood, we built a skyscraper built entirely out of rectangles. Then we put it together like a puzzle and talked about how tall a skyscraper is and how people live there or work there.
Next we each took a turn to talk about 3 people from our neighborhood, what they do for us, and then the kids decided which window they lived/worked from. It was fun watching how each kid would pick a window. They liked the ones on the top best.
S is for Sun. We (attempted) to put 19 rays of sunshine on our sun, but the kids lost interest before we actually made it to 19.
We also made silhouettes and sang a silly song, Down by the Bay.

Okay. Seriously how fun are you?! These are are so great!! Isabella did talk about making the slime and playing I-spy but not anything else and wondered where those glasses came from! Haha! Super fun Kamille, I loved the spy game and now I know what those skyscrapers were for. I kept meaning to ask each time I picked up the kids. I just love that my daughter has such awesome teachers for preschool!
