We had a good time at preschool today reviewing what all these kiddos have learned over the last months.
The kids were all very excited about what they brought for show and tell.
I decided to do a little scavenger hunt for the kids to help review the letters and sounds of the alphabet. I set up clues throughout the house. Each clue had the name printed out with the letter that it started with and a puzzle piece. After they ran through the house, the front, and back yard the last clue had them come to the table and put the puzzle together. The puzzle was a treasure chest with a clue telling them to take 27 steps and then they would find where X marks the spot.
They all had such a good time finding their clues and did such an awesome job!
The treasure box was filled with objects that started with each letter of the alphabet. The kids got to take turns figuring out what letter they started with and then put them in front of that letter on the alphabet train.
The theme was transportation so we made cars out of paper towel rolls and coke bottle lids. The kids loved painting them and were all so unique in their colors and designs. They love projects!
While we waited for the cars to dry we did a counting/sorting activity with car stickers. The girls were appalled that they were "boy" stickers, but they came up with a solution! They would make it for their brothers! I thought it was sweet that they thought of that!
After lunch we went outside for a game of red light green light.
They set up the backyard for "a beautiful garden party"...I was just grateful they pulled my weeds!
